While there is alternative work arrangement in the Department of Education in light of the COVID-19 stringent social distancing measures, the Information and Communication Technology Services (ICTS) continued its online training to prepare personnel in the utilization and development of Interactive E-Book.

This Interactive E-Book allows the learners to become immersed in content and to think outside the traditional linear format.   The ICT (Information and Communication Technology) personnel of the regional and division offices were trained using a technology called Kotobee Author, an Interactive E-Book creation and digital publishing software.

The software is intended for curriculum personnel especially the Learning Resource Management Section (LRMS), but the ICT personnel were trained first on the use of the software so they can provide technical assistance in the future.

The activities during the training were mainly exploring the important features of the software that can be utilized by the Department. The online training was conducted through Microsoft Teams, and simultaneously broadcasted live on Facebook so that ICT coordinators from around the country can also view and participate in their own homes.

Dir. Abram Y.C. Abanil of the ICTS headed the training with Mark Anthony C. Sy as speaker. DepEd Davao Region was represented by ICTU staff and division IT officers headed by Ricardo C. Guinto, Information Technology Officer I.
