DEPED TAGUM CONDUCTS MODULE ENHANCEMENT; 38M BID OPENS
The Curriculum and Implementation Division (CID) of DepEd Tagum conducted Development and Enhancement of Self Learning Modules (SLMs) for the second quarter (Q2) on October 19-20.
The development and enhancement of SLMs in all subject areas was conducted with the end goal of coming up with modules that will be readily available on or before October 30.
“It’s a tough job but someone has to do it,” Dexter Idul Caballes, a teacher-writer in Science subject for elementary level, said. He committed to deliver his output towards the end of the write-shop.
Guided by the Learning Resource (LR) Management, the main office who does the quality assurance of all modules, the pool of writers from elementary and secondary schools across all discipline convened to develop, refine, and enhance the modules.
Outputs of the workshop shall be forwarded to the printshop who won the competitive bidding conducted by the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC).
The two-day enhancement of modules were initiated and supported by SDS Josephine Fadul and ASDS Melanie Plenos Estacio who both graced the event and gave their inspirational messages to the teacher-writers and the organizers.
In her message, Dr. Fadul said teachers should act like teachers all the time in dealing with parents and learners.
“Extend more tolerance and conduct of unbecoming is not tolerated be it in a group chat or personal interaction with parents,” she emphasized.
Earlier this month, the BAC had started with the competitive bidding for SLM Q2 amounting to 38,704,000. The finished product shall be distributed door-to-door to the 41 schools of Tagum City.
